Skopje, 4 August 2023 (MIA) — The State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption will file a motion to the Struga Public Prosecutor's Office to initiate criminal proceedings against the Vevchani Mayor for abuse of office.

At its online session Friday, the commission said the mayor should be prosecuted for abuse of office for appointing to the post of acting director in the local public company the same person four times.

The person who served as acting director four times should also be held accountable for accepting the post, which is against the law, the anti-corruption team said.

There is clear evidence of wrongdoing in this case, they said, urging labor inspectors to look into the matter as well. mr/
