Veterinary faculty: Country needs more veterinarians

Skopje, 23 August 2024 (MIA) — The country has a need of doctors of veterinary medicine, the state university's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine said in an announcement Friday urging high school graduates to enroll in its study programs.

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine graduates can pursue careers in veterinary medicine by opening their own private veterinary practices; by working in the food industry, the state administration, drug wholesalers, the Food and Veterinary Agency or as sanitary inspectors in the meat or dairy industry, the faculty said.

 

According to the announcement, his year's Veterinary Medicine study program in Macedonian will welcome 50 students and 15 students can enroll in the the Veterinary Medicine study program in English.

 

 

"All subjects included in this year's curriculum are listed in EU's Directive 2005/36 as well as in the list of subjects adopted each year at the annual meeting of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education," the faculty added.

 

Undergraduates will also be offered a number of mobility grants through the ERASMUS and CEEPUS programs and through cooperation agreements with various international education institutions.

 

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Skopje was established in 1991 and is a full member of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education. mr/
