Skopje, 31 August 2021 (MIA) – As of Wednesday, to exit North Macedonia citizens and foreign nationals will be required to present a vaccination certificate, i.e. proof of having received two vaccine doses, proof of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 45 days as from the day of recovery, a negative PCR test done in the previous 72 hours, or a negative rapid antigen test done in the previous 48 hours, the Government decided Tuesday evening. “The Government also amended the decision on mandatory home quarantine for a period of 7 days if no negative PCR test is presented upon entry in the country, or a proof of vaccination or proof of COVID-19 recovery, where the duration of the quarantine can be made 5 days if a negative PCR test is presented in that period,” the Government says. This will apply to both citizens of North Macedonia and foreign nationals, while isolation requirements for foreign nationals will be at their expense. Exempted from this measure are domestic truck drivers, as well as foreign truck drivers transiting the country. In addition, the Government at its Tuesday’s session adopted a decision to exempt from the measure on transit of aircraft crews landing at the international airports in the country, according to which instead of five hours they are allowed a longer transit stay due to the nature of their work.
