Skopje, 10 April 2023 (MIA) — The amendments to the nine laws are part of creating a legal framework for a fast, high-quality and legal construction of Corridor 8 and Corridor 10d, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said in response to reporters' questions Monday.

"The contractor and designer, the renowned international company Bechtel and Enka, were chosen by a special law in Parliament, which was approved by everyone. These nine laws practically align part of the legal regulation so the project can be completed within the given period of five years, in a legal way," PM Kovachevski said.

One of the laws that needed to be amended was the Law on the Protection of Cultural and Archaeological Heritage, for which the Minister of Culture had held talks with a group of experts, Kovachevski said.

"I think a solution will be found that will be satisfactory to everyone," he said.

Responding to reporters, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said none of the bills went against the principles of good governance.

The amendments, he stressed, would only facilitate the implementation of the Corridors 8 and 10d construction project. mr/
