Ukrainian Ambassador to the OSCE: We cannot build the future of the OSCE with a country that kidnaps our future

Skopje, 30 November 2023 (MIA) - During the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje, Ukrainian Ambassador to the OSCE, Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk, extended thanks to all countries for their support to Ukraine in the struggle for freedom against Russia. He emphasized that this support also contributes to safeguarding the future of the OSCE.

In a symbolic move during his speech, Tsymbaliuk showed five grains scorched by Russia with an Iranian drone to the delegates, explaining that Russia has destroyed hundreds of thousands of tons of grain, leaving many families across the globe without food.

“The world needs a vaccine against attempts to use food as a weapon,” Tsymbaliuk stressed.

Over the past two years, according to Tsymbaliuk, the OSCE has demonstrated that it is most effective when it ignores Russia's threats and engages with it from a position of unity and moral authority.

“If not, Russia will persist in seeking more concessions. It is clear that we cannot build the future of the OSCE with a country that kidnaps our future and our children,” he added.

In the tenth year since the annexation of Crimea in 2024, according to Tsymbaliuk, the OSCE needs strong leadership more than ever to defend the principles of the organization, with additional isolation of Russia and its malign actions within it.
