UKIM presents awards to best graduating students for 2022/2023 academic year

Skopje, 20 May 2024 (MIA) – Awards have been bestowed to the best graduating students for the 2022/2023 academic year on Monday at the Rectorate of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) as part of the events to mark its 75th anniversary.

Moreover, the ’26 July’ prize from the Frank Manning Foundation in the United Kingdom was presented to undergraduate students in their final semester who displayed exceptional academic achievements.

The awards were handed out by the rector of UKIM, Ph.D. Biljana Angelova, while the award from the Stamboliev Foundation was presented by Aleksandar Stamboliev. The top student of the Medical Faculty, Leonid Rene Tomas Karadzinov, stated to MIA that his intention is to stay in our country.

“I base my decision on the fact that my entire family and support are here. I see no reason to go abroad. At the moment, I am firmly convinced that I will pursue my career beginnings here. Furthermore, nothing is excluded for the future. However, I hope to remain here and continue contributing to healthcare and the development of the entire healthcare system,” he told MIA.

Ana Sofeska, one of the award recipients, addressing the attendees, said that the time they spent here has endowed them with knowledge, skills and self-assurance to make a meaningful contribution to our country.

The award for the best graduating students were bestowed to Angela Meshkova, Matea Tashkovska, Dejan Radulovski, Despina Bucevska, Rufija Idrizovska, Ana Sofeska, Leonid Rene Tomas Karadzinov, Blagoja Atanasoski, Viktor Meglenovski, Kristina Stoilkovska, Gabriela Kozarova, Teodora Mazneva, Viktor Ignov, Marko Milchevski, Anja Mitikj, Marija Mitevska, Anja Filipova, Tea Kostadinova, Aksa Zulbeari, Egzona Murtezani, Mergim Fera, Jana Panchevska, Eva Zovikj, Ivan Stanishkovski, and Damjan Naumovski.

Recipients of the ’26 July’ prize include David Stojanoski, Dejan Radulovski, Ana Sofeska, Gabriela Kozarova, Kristina Stoilkovska, Ana Filipova and Eva Zovikj.

The Stamboliev Foundation award was presented to Vikotr Ignov.

Besides the recipients and their family members, the ceremony was attended by the vice-rectors of the University, the general secretary, the president of the University Senate, and the deans of the faculties.
