Berlin, 28 June 2023 (dpa/MIA) - The 2025 women's Champions League final will take place in Lisbon, the ruling body UEFA said on Wednesday.
UEFA said that the Estádio José Alvalade, home of local club Sporting and with a capacity of just over 50,000, will stage the showcase match.
The next final 2024 is in Bilbao, Spain.
UEFA also said that Athens and Wroclaw have been chosen as hosts of the next two finals of the men's third tier club event which has also been rebranded UEFA Conference League. The event launched in 2021 was previously called Europa Conference League.
Athens will host the 2024 final in new stadium of the AEK club and Poland's Wroclav the 2025 decider.
UEFA also said that standing facilities can be used again next season as part of an ongoing observers' programme in all three European events in Germany, France and England, where they are also used in domestic action.
This could mean that Champions League debutants Union Berlin will play their home games in their Alte Försterei venue which allows 18,000 to stand, and not to move into the bigger Olympic Stadium.
