Munich, 14 June 2024 (MIA) - The UEFA Euro 2024 kicks off Friday at 9 pm local time. 

Hosts Germany will be playing against Scotland in the opening match of the tournament in Group A, at the Allianz Arena in Munich. 

At the opening ceremony ahead of the game, UEFA will honor late German football icon Franz Beckenbauer.

Italy is the current reigning European champions after the triumph over England in the 2021 tournament, which was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
