Skopje, 10 January 2023 (MIA) — United States Department of State Counselor Derek Chollet is arriving in Skopje to meet with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Wednesday for discussions across a range of issues, including energy, the economy, and the fight against corruption, according to an official press release.

Counselor Chollet will be heading a delegation of experts who will be welcomed by government officials.

"This visit underscores the enduring U.S. commitment to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the [Western Balkans] region," the U.S. Department of State said.

Chollet will also travel to Kosovo and Serbia, resuming his trip to the Balkans that was postponed after he had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in December. mr/
