Skopje, 18 December 2024 (MIA) - The Ministry of Interior said Wednesday disciplinary measures have been taken against two police officers working at Blace border crossing over the country exit of former deputy PM Artan Grubi.
The MoI said one of the police officers did not properly inspect the "Mercedes" passenger vehicle Grubi was in and did not record the country exit. Instead, he filed the border crossing of the driver and passenger Grubi as 'on foot'.
The second police officer who is facing disciplinary measures is the shift leader, who failed to report a problem related to the mobile camera recording system, after the police officers under his supervision has returned their cameras, saying they were not working because of spent batteries.
Grubi and former State Lottery director Perparim Bajrami, who are being suspected for the misappropriation of EUR 8 million from the State Lottery, are currently not available to law enforcement.
On Tuesday, the Skopje-based Criminal Court ordered a 30-day detention for Grubi and Bajrami, while the Ministry of Interior issued international arrest warrants for the two suspects earlier today.
