Two more people detained after Friday’s protest in Mala Rechica
Tetovo, 18 September 2021 (MIA) – The Tetovo police detained two more people on Saturday for taking part in the protests in Mala Rechica on Friday, after a group of people tried to force their way through a police cordon to reach DUI’s headquarters. Thus far, five people have been arrested. According to Tetovo police spokesman Marjan Josifoski, the two people arrested on Saturday were both from Tetovo. He added that measures have been taken to fully clarify the case in coordination with a public prosecutor. Officers of the Tetovo police arrested two people on Friday, a 52-year-old man from Tetovo and a 31-year-old man from Kichevo, due to their involvement in Friday’s protest. The incident followed a protest march demanding responsibility for the 14 people who lost their lives in the fire at the modular hospital. A group of young people continued to march towards Mala Rechica and tried to force their way through the police cordon. Four police officers were injured.
