Turnout by 1 pm: 25.84% in parliamentary elections; 23.95% in presidential elections

Skopje, 8 May 2024 (MIA) – Out of 1,261,526 people registered to vote in 2,472 polling stations, 23.95% (302,158) voted by 1 pm, said the State Election Commission (SEC).
Kriva Palanka registered the highest turnout in the presidential elections with 46.44%. Lipkovo has the lowest turnout - 3.28%,
“Compared to the second round of the 2019 presidential elections, turnout is up by 3.49%. Compared to the first round of the 2024 presidential elections, turnout dropped by 0.7%,” said SEC.
Out of 1,207,922 people registered to vote in 2,348 polling stations, 25.84% (312,070) voted in the parliamentary elections by 1 pm.
Krivogashtani records the highest turnout in the parliamentary elections – 48.65%. The lowest is recorded in Mavrovo-Rostushe, 11.91%.
“Compared to the 2020 parliamentary elections, turnout this year increased by 2.03%,” SEC said.
1,303 domestic observers, 860 international observers and 83 foreign journalist are monitoring Wednesday’s election day in North Macedonia.
