Turkish Embassy thanks North Macedonia for solidarity 

Skopje, 13 February 2023 (MIA) - The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Skopje expressed its gratitude to North Macedonia for showing strong solidarity after the catastrophic earthquake that hit Turkey last week.

The Turkish Embassy in Skopje expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the President Stevo Pendarovski, the Parliament, the Government, public institutions and municipalities of the country, as well as to the business community, the Red Cross, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, the media, artists and the entire nation for the strong solidarity expressed after the catastrophic earthquake that hit Turkey last week.

“The Republic of North Macedonia has mobilized all its capacities in order to support the rescue activities in the affected areas following devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, as well as to collect and transfer material and financial support to the victims,” the Turkish Embassy said in a press release on Monday.

The press release reads that the people of North Macedonia, after the disaster, in the spirit of solidarity as well as centuries-old brotherhood and friendship, united with the Turkish people.

“This unity and solidarity between our peoples, expressed in this exceptional period, represents a precious heritage that we will pass on to future generations,” reads the press release.
