Turkey's Erdoğan urges Putin to resume talks for 'fair peace'

Russia and Ukraine need to resume talks for a "fair peace" process after a year of the former's full invasion, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Ankara is ready to provide any assistance to help stop "further loss of life and destruction" in the war, Erdoğan told Putin in a phone call, according to state news agency Anadolu.

Both sides must focus on "a solution based on ceasefire and negotiations," Erdoğan told Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky in a separate phone call earlier on Friday.
