Skopje, 22 June 2022 (MIA) - Justice Minister Nikola Tupancheski held Wednesday a working meeting with OSCE/ODIHR experts, Keara Castaldo and Raul Muresan, discussing the preparation of new Electoral Code. Tupancheski presented activities undertaken by the Ministry in order to set up a working group to prepare a new legal solution, said the Ministry of Justice. The OSCE/ODIHR representatives were informed that despite the fact that VMRO-DPMNE has not yet delegated a member, the working group will be established soon, and the invitation to participate remains open. “The Electoral Code can be adopted only through dialogue and consensus of all stakeholders. It must include all previous recommendations that the OSCE/ODIHR has made in past election cycles,” said Tupancheski. The OSCE/ODIHR experts expressed readiness to support the entire process of drafting the new Electoral Code. dk/nn/
