Trenchevska: New general collective agreement for public sector to ensure continued wage growth
Skopje, 20 September 2022 (MIA) – The new general collective agreement in the public sector, which is in the pipeline, is set to ensure more rights for workers, whereas the new methodology will secure a continued growth of wages, says Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska. Minister Trenchevska told Telma TV that the new general collective agreement for the public sector will be signed by the end of the year. She says the new law on labor relations is a systemic piece of legislation and a constitution for workers’ rights. “The new law is in the final stage of drafting and we expect to put it for public debate in November. We are developing it in dialogue with unions and employers, and it will be aligned with the European law and conventions ratified by the International Labor Organization (ILO),” says Trenchevska.
