Transport associations request priority for personal documents issuance

Transport associations request priority for personal documents issuance

Skopje, 14 February 2024 (MIA) - Transport associations "MAKAM-TRANS" and "Prevoznik" sent Wednesday a letter of request to the Ministry of Interior for priority issuance of all necessary documents for transport companies and a letter to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, urging for support due to the implementation of the Prespa Agreement provision.

As they point out, professional drivers' work activities depend on these documents, therefore they have turned to the ministries to ask for help and support as to avoid delays in the transportation of goods.

In terms of passports and driving licenses, transport associations and other associations should submit lists with data for all drivers who, in order to distinguish from the mass of requests, will submit requests individually, in order to ease the process, stress the transport associations.

Regarding procedures for registration plates stickers and new vehicle registration certificates, it is necessary to enable commercial transporters (transportation of goods and passengers) to obtain all necessary documentation at once for the vehicles in their possession, and on the basis of copies of the traffic permits to be issued new ones with the country's new name.

The associations note that the request is supported by the fact that road transport cannot and must not be interrupted as the economy depends on it, especially since according to statistics, transport of imported goods in 96 percent of cases is carried out through road traffic and the vehicles are all over the European transport market.

Transporters, on their part, will ensure the delivery of registration plates stickers and traffic permits through express mail, or via other transporters in the country that are headed in the direction of vehicles out of the country. ssh/ik/
