Skopje, 12 November 2022 (MIA) - Transport Minister Blagoj Bochvarski, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, Transport Inspectorate head Gajur Rushiti and Customs Administration Director Slavica Kutirov signed Saturday a an agreement on sharing passenger and freight transport data and presented the website etransport.mtc.gov.mk. The website was designed in cooperation with the Transport Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Customs Administration and the State Transport Directorate allowing the citizens in real time to check the type of passenger transport licenses and if transporters have been issued adequate permits. Control bodies are allowed electronic access to the registry of transporters, data about their licenses, data about the vehicles they own, and data about the hired drivers as well as access to whether drivers own certificates for professional competence, which is considered a necessary documents for international transportation of passengers or goods. "We believe we are enabling quick, timely and efficient control of all participants in passenger and freight transport. By opening our database in real time, we are tackling those daring to falsify documents and we're also helping the control bodies. With the web platform, we also give focus to citizens' control," Minister Bochvarski told a news conference presenting the website. According to Interior Minister Spasovski, today's signing of the agreement for institutional cooperation created a key mechanism aimed at modernizing the regulation of the transport of passengers and goods. "This modern means for communication will allow consistent, timely and precise sharing of information also enabling laws in this area to be more efficiently implement," he said noting it also aims at not only increasing transparency but also at raising the level of responsibility and safety of passenger transportation.
