Skopje, 13 February 2023 (MIA) – On the basis of the overall analysis during Monday’s sessions of the Presidency and the Central Council of the Democratic Union (DS), the party decided not to support the Government reshuffle and will not be a part of the parliamentary majority, said DS Leader Pavle Trajanov on Monday.

However, Trajanov stressed that DS will continue to support and initiate projects that mean implementing European standards. Trajanov said that they are firmly committed to the country’s EU membership.

“We concluded that our program goals, which were agreed with SDSM before the elections, have not been implemented. Firstly, we had an agreement for Macedonia to be a single constituency and a law was drafted to that end, it passed at the committees, but it is currently blocked because Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi is not scheduling the session where these legal amendments should be discussed,” Trajanov stressed.

He added that the Democratic Union's program goals regarding reforms in the judiciary and the fight against corruption have not been implemented either. ad/sk/
