Skopje, 13 June 2022 (MIA) — North Macedonia's tourist facilities in April welcomed 47,617 tourists, of whom 34.8% were domestic tourists and 65.2% were foreign tourists, according to the State Statistical Office in a press release.
The tourists spent 98,979 nights in the country in April, of which 36.8% were by domestic and 63.2% by foreign tourists.
From January through April 2022, compared to the same time in 2021, the number of tourists in the country increased by 66.1% — with 29.2% more domestic tourists and 114% more foreign tourists visiting North Macedonia this year.
Between January and April 2022, compared to the same period last year, the number of nights spent in tourist accommodations increased by 59.5%. Domestic tourists spent 30.2% more nights and foreign tourists spent 96.5% more nights in tourist accommodations than last year. mr/
