Total deposits and loans up by 7.3% in July: National Bank 

Skopje, 21 August 2024 (MIA) - Total deposits registered a 7.3 percent increase in July in 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, mostly due to the growth of household deposits. Total loans also rose by 7.3 percent because of an increase in corporate and household loans, the National Bank said Wednesday.

According to data from the National Bank, total deposits grew by 0.5 percent and total loans by 0.6 percent on a monthly basis.

In the corporate sector, deposits grew by 0.2 percent and loans by 0.5 percent on a monthly basis. Household deposits grew by 0.7 percent and loans by 0.8 percent in the same period.

Consumer and housing loans granted to individuals registered a monthly growth of 0.9 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively, amid annual increase of 6.3 percent and 10.5 percent, respectively. In July, car loans increased by 2.5 percent and 23.6 percent, on a monthly and annual basis, respectively, while loans on credit cards decreased monthly and annually by 0.2 percent and 8.0 percent, respectively, the National Bank said.
