Toshkovski - Drexler: Strong German support in fighting crime, rule of law, professional policing

Skopje, 3 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski and Public Security Bureau Director Aleksandar Janev met Wednesday with German Ambassador Petra Drexler and thanked for the cooperation and Germany's sincere support, which will continue in the future with hope that the country soon becomes part of the European family.
Minister Toshkovski presented the main objectives in focus in the coming period, such as the fight against organized crime and corruption, and reconstruction and functionality of systematization and digitization, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
Ambassador Drexler congratulated Toshkovski and Janev on their posts and highlighted the cooperation so far, especially as part of the equipment donated to the Ministry and its training center.
Janev presented the reforms planned in the area of police and crime investigation, and stressed the excellent cooperation with the German police in the exchange of information, especially in the fight with transnational organized crime.
Interlocutors noted that the friendship and direct cooperation will continue to intensify in the following period, with the aim of improving the fight against crime, rule of law, and increasing public safety. ssh/ik/
