Toshkovski: Double murder suspect Palevski to be extradited as soon as possible

Skopje, 30 April 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski said that Ljupcho Palevski, the prime suspect in last year's murder of Vanja Gjorchevska and Panche Zhezhovski, will be extradited as soon as possible after the Ministry of Justice said earlier on Tuesday that the Turkish authorities have approved the extradition.
"Today we received information from the Department for International Police Cooperation that the extradition of the person in question has been approved. Our police officers are in communication with their Turkish counterparts, and it is expected in the coming period that they will set everything necessary so that the person in question, who is being prosecuted by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Macedonia, be brought to justice," said Toshkovski.
Asked whether there is a specific deadline when Palevski should be extradited, the Minister of Interior said there was no specific deadline, but Palevski will be extradited to the country as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Justice said Tuesday it has received an official notification that the extradition of Ljupcho Palevski has been approved in Turkey.
The Ministry told MIA that the court and administrative procedures have been completed and the person's transfer is pending.
