Toshkovski, Bushi meet with Hungarian Ambassador Klein

Skopje, 7 February 2024 (MIA) -– Caretaker Minister of Internal Affairs Panche Toshkovski and Deputy Minister Nazim Bushi met Wednesday with Hungarian Ambassador András Klein and the newly appointed police attaché István Erdős.

According to the Ministry of Interior in a press release, Toshkovski expressed gratitude for Hungary's ongoing and future support for the Ministry.

Toshkovski briefed Ambassador Klein on the current situation at the Ministry and his role as a caretaker minister in the process of organizing upcoming elections.

"He also highlighted his right to reassign officials holding management positions at the Ministry, but the Government did not accept the appointment of a new official for one of the departments. For these and other similar cases, he expressed concern that the OSCE Mission and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights will come to the conclusion that legal action is being questioned," the press release reads.

Meeting participants agreed that the mutually successful cooperation should continue in the future, and Klein once again confirmed the strong support for the Ministry of Interior. ssh/mr
