Skopje, 28 December 2023 (MIA) - Starting Thursday, companies will purchase tobacco at a 10 percent higher price.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski said in a press briefing that this decision was made Wednesday night. 

The price of tobacco was first increased by Prilep Tobacco factory, followed by a government's decision to provide additional support for tobacco farmers, who are to receive an additional subsidiary of Mden 20-30, while in 2024 "green oil" will receive Mden 6.000 support per hectare of land. 

According to Minister Nikolovski, the subsidy should reach record high Mden 100-110, depending on calculations at the end of the purchase. ssh/sk/
