Belgrade, 3 September 2022 (MIA) – Wineries “Tikvesh” and “Kamnik” are recipients of the Wine Trophy award at the “Wine Vision by Open Balkan” fair in Belgrade on Saturday. Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic presented “Tikvesh” with the best autochtonous variety award for wine Barovo Red 2019 and “Kamnik” with the orange variety award for wine The Orange 2019. “Wine has helped us, all wineries, vine growers, distilleries have helped us to further strengthen a brilliant political idea, to open new perspectives for our cooperation on the Balkans and attract other partners from the region, primarily Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. This Open Balkan fair showed that we have things to offer,” said PM Brnabic. During the fair, a jury comprised of 25 international judges, five of whom “wine masters”, assessed the wines in categories white, red, rose, sparkling, sweet, orange and enriched, with special trophies to be presented to wines made out of autochtonous varieties from the Balkans. Almost 400 exhibitors and wine producers from more than 22 countries are taking part at the fair, primarily from Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania and other regional countries, but also Central Europe, North and South America. North Macedonia’s slogan is “Taste Life”, including 42 wineries, three distilleries and a dozen of food producers. Macedonian authentic food and over 300 wine and brandy varieties are presented.
