Tetovo ring road construction works launched

Tetovo, 13 February 2024 (MIA) - Construction works on the 5.4km-long Tetovo ring road, worth EUR 12 million, were launched on Tuesday.

"The construction of this ring road aims to accelerate the region's economic development, reduce traffic in the city and facilitate access of companies operating in this region," said Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski.

He added that the ring road would ease the communication of people living in Tetovo, Zhelino, Tearce, Jegunovce and other places in the area.

The State Roads public enterprise has allocated the EUR 12 million for the project.

"The ring road will have two lanes on both sides, along with service lanes along the entire road length," said enterprise director Ejup Rustemi.

Caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi also attended the event, highlighting the fact that heavy vehicles would move away from the city streets, thus increasing the citizens' safety.
