Teachers' Plenum requests shorter in-person classes

Teachers' Plenum requests shorter in-person classes
Skopje, 17 September 2021 (MIA) — In a public letter to Education Minister Mila Carovska, the Teachers’ Plenum has asked the Ministry of Education and Science to shorten in-person classes from 45 to 30 minutes because, according to their letter, teachers have had great difficulty holding indoor classes while following protocols issued by the Commission for Infectious Diseases. The Plenum has also asked the Ministry of Education and Science to move classes consisting of more than 15 students to a hybrid model of learning, with groups alternating weekly between online and in-person instruction. “This problem needs an urgent solution,” the teachers write, adding that local schools should also relieve teaching staff of all-day duty teaching in-person classes during a pandemic. mr/
