Skopje, 7 August 2023 (MIA) - Alliance for Albanians (AA) leader and Gostivar Mayor, Arben Taravari, said Monday he does not see the formation of Izet Mexhiti’s new political entity as a threat to his party.
"I don't see it as a risk at all. We have our own structures. We cover the entire country’s territory where Albanians live, so for now, I don't see any threat, everyone has their own trajectory in politics," Taravari told reporters.
He wished Mexhiti success, expressing hope that he will get to realize his plans.
Mexhiti, who was until recently DUI vice-president and MP, together with Merita Koxhaxhiku and Kastriot Rexhepi announced on July 17 a procedure to form a new political movement that will be officially launched on August 13. Mexhiti said at the time that the new political entity will, in principle, function as a political party. Asked whether they will be ready for possible early elections, Mexhiti said it is precisely why they want to form the movement sooner, so that they are ready for any challenges that may arise in the meantime.ssh/nn/
