Taravari: Rise in Covid cases, recommendations to be followed

Skopje, 21 August 2024 (MIA) - Health Minister Arben Taravari told media Wednesday there is a rise in the number of registered cases of Covid-19 in the country and urged that anti-Covid recommendations be followed.

Regarding hospitalized patients who test positive for the virus, the Minister said they should continue receiving treatment at the same health facility.

“There is a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country. The Commission for Infectious Diseases convened and came out with a conclusion on how they should be treated. We need to continue abiding by the rules – vented rooms, avoiding crowds, observing hygiene. However, patients who are being treated for certain conditions in clinics and get infected with Covid in the meantime, should continue receiving treatment at the same clinic and an infectious disease specialist should provide recommendations for additional treatment if necessary. Evidently, most patients are asymptomatic or have very light symptoms,” Minister Taravari said at a press conference Wednesday promoting nine new generic drugs that are being added to the Positive List of Prescription Drugs.
