Taravari: Clinical Center to get two new multi-storey car parks

Skopje, 5 July 2024 (MIA) – Health Minister Arben Taravari said Friday evening that the government has decided to build two modular multi-storey car parks at the Clinical Center in Skopje through a public-private partnership to solve the parking issue. He added that a feasibility study has been completed and will result in three times more parking spaces.

“Modular multi-storey parking garages and more organized parking spaces will be built with a private partner. They will charge for parking tickets, following the standard hourly rate, and patients and doctors working there will have more parking spaces than there are now,” Taravari told Sitel TV.

During his visit to the Oncology Clinic today, Taravari said that there have been talks about having at least some of the patients' therapy administered at ‘8 September’ hospital, in Tetovo, and in Bitola.

“We are lacking a large number of nurses, especially in oncology, as well as radiology technicians, physicists, and doctors. I will be meeting with the Dean of the Medical Faculty on Monday to create a plan for specializations,” Taravari explained.

He confirmed that there is a consideration for increasing doctors' salaries, but emphasized that this is not just the Minister’s decision. He announced that the salary increase will be implemented gradually.

Health Minister stated that next week the amendments to the Health Law, which will abolish economic directors, will be submitted to the Parliament. He will travel to Slovenia in two to three weeks to observe their experience with merging their Clinical Center, and the new positive drug list, which will be updated every year, will also be announced within two to three weeks.
