Skopje, 5 July 2023 (MIA) - Talks on the methodology over a rise of public sector wages resume on Wednesday by a working group within the Economic-Social Council (ESC).

Unions remain on their demand that last year's inflation of 14.2 percent is used as the base parameter for rise of public sector wages, whereas the authorities push for a systemic and sustainable solution in order to increase efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of the public sector.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy said after the ESC meeting earlier this week that social partners agreed that future talks on the methodology for increase of public sector wages take place in a smaller working group, comprised of ESC members, who will meet more frequently and come up with proposals by the next ESC session.
