Skopje, 20 December 2021 (MIA) - Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, who is paying a visit to North Macedonia on Monday, said that the extradition of former Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski is a legal issue. “This is not a political, but a legal issue. It’s up to the judiciary and can’t be questioned by Hungarian politicians,” Szijjártó told reporters during a joint press conference with North Macedonia’s top diplomat Bujar Osmani. Former Macedonian PM Nikola Gruevski escaped to Budapest in 2018 where he was granted political asylum. He’s indicted in several cases and was sentenced to two years in prison during the ‘Tank’ case trial.
