Strumica, 19 November 2025 (MIA) - A new park spreading across 14,000 m2 will be built in Strumica, funded by the municipality and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The municipality is set to invest Mden 16 million (EUR 260,000), while UNDP will provide Mden 10 million (EUR 163,000) in the park's construction, the local self-government said in a press release.

Strumica Mayor Petar Jankov and UNDP Resident Representative Armen Grigoryan discussed bilateral cooperation and realization of current projects, agreeing over the need for its enlargement in many areas.

Interlocutors focused on the project for management of air pollution, the new park being part of its outcomes. About 600 trees are to be planted in the park, which will also include children's and sports playgrounds, reads the press release.
