State IT systems not experiencing any issues, says Minister

Tetovo, 19 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski told reporters Friday that the IT systems of the state institutions have not experienced any issues amid a global IT outage.

“Regarding the state institutions, we are in constant communication with the Minister of Energy, as well as other relevant stakeholders, so far, the IT systems in the state institutions haven’t experienced any outages. There are some reports about the private sector, but I think these are isolated cases and are already being fixed,” Andonovski told reporters.

According to the Minister, the state has a working strategy in cyberspace security. A work group of experts is being established to draft a cybersecurity strategy and the cyber protection law.

“We will lead the process together with our partners, the international partners in NATO, to draft a strategy on cybersecurity, a law on cyber protection and a protocol on how to act in case of incidents. This world is under attack, it is constantly developing and constantly suffering attacks, but when you have a clear response from countries, the issues and consequences you face are always smaller, but it is very important that we have a systemic approach and position ourselves strategically to protect ourselves,” the Minister said.
