Stano: EU remains convinced there's a solution for Belgrade-Pristina dispute
Belgrade, 1 August 2022 (MIA) - The EU is convinced that an EU-mediated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina can find solutions and remove tensions in Kosovo, said European Commission spokesman Peter Stano on Monday. He emphasized that the EU wouldn't have gotten involved if it wasn't convinced that a solution could be found, which is why it invited both parties to come to Brussels for talks. "The EU says that it's important to put a stop to all those involved in uncoordinated and one-sided actions that disrupt the peace and stability in the field and prevent the freedom of movement to all citizens," the spokesman of the high representative of the EU, Josep Borell, said. Stano pointed out that the only way to solve the disputes are dialogue and negotiations, emphasizing that the EU and its members follow the events that transpired in the north of Kosovo with great concern and attention. "The EU has been and remains in contact with either party, Kosovo and Serbia, and we're working with EULEX and NATO, with the KFOR field mission, and international partners, especially with the US, and our goal is to reduce tensions". dk/ba/
