Stand in way of party leadership destroying Macedonia, Mickoski tells SDSM MPs

Stand in way of party leadership destroying Macedonia, Mickoski tells SDSM MPs

Skopje, 14 February 2023 (MIA) – In response to a reporter's question on whether he expects two-thirds majority with the current composition of the Parliament for adopting amendments to the Constitution, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said he epects this parliamentary composition to finish its mandate very soon, and then hold snap, early parliamentary elections.

Asked to comment on Alternativa and the Democratic Union (DS) leaving the Government, the opposition leader said that Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski was "blind follower of Ali Ahmeti and Artan Grubi" and that SDSM "has never before had a weaker leadership".

An Alternativa MP, Mickoski added, said publicly in her address from the rostrum yesterday that in November 2021 "the Macedonian Government was formed by Edi Rama and a member of Adem Jashari's family".

"With this, Kovachevski only confirms that he is a blind follower of Ali Ahmeti and, even worse, of Artan Grubi. SDSM, with the current leadership, has never been in a worse condition, SDSM has never before had a weaker leadership," Mickoski said at an event in Kavadarci and called on SDSM MPs who disagree with its leadership's policies to join them for the salvation of Macedonia, which, as he said, goes to ruin.

"That's why I urge SDSM MPs, all those who in the past gave signs, reflected positions that are different from its leadership, despite pressure from semi-criminal structures managed by the party's leadership, take courage, stand in the way of the leadership that is destroying the future of Macedonia and the Macedonian people. Do not be hostage to Ali Ahmeti and let Edi Rama form the future government. This is our Macedonia, for which people gave their lives. Don't let Ahmeti and Rama lead Macedonia to ruin," said Mickoski.

He added that since Monday, when the Democratic Union (DS) decided to leave the government coalition, he hasn't communicated with DS leader Pavle Trajanov.
