SSO to launch option for citizens to take part in census at designated locations
Skopje, 24 September 2021 (MIA) – The State Statistical Office is launching on Saturday the option for citizens to visit certain location in their municipalities and take part in the census, thus fulfilling their legal and civic duty, the SSO’s Jasmina Gjorgieva told a press conference on Friday. She said that the option will be available for nationals who in the past 20 days failed to make contact with census takers for any reason. “They can visit designated locations in their municipalities and take part in the census. The locations will be unveiled later this afternoon on the https://popis2021.stat.gov.mk/ website,” Gjorgieva stressed. She underlined that the country is entering the last stage of the census, with field activities wrapping up and census takers trying to find out if someone had been left out. “That’s the aim of the census – to count North Macedonia’s entire population,” Gjorgieva noted. She reiterated that the census will end September 30, and called on citizens who haven’t been counted to be patient and wait for census workers to visit them in the next few days. Moreover, she thanked nationals who showed support by taking part in the process.
