SSO: Technical harmonization underway, over 200,000 citizens counted since start of census
Skopje, 9 September 2021 (MIA) – Citizens across the country have showed interest and support for the 2021 Population and Housing Census, which launched in North Macedonia on September 5. Since the start of the census, over 200,000 citizens have been counted, the State Statistical Office (SSO) said in a press release on Thursday. The SSO thanked citizens who are aware of the importance of conducting this large statistical operation and are being constructive partners in the process. “We’re currently resolving minor technical challenges that came up occasionally in the past few days, when a lot of people were being counted. Data is being processed in the system and technical harmonization is underway so the process can resume with the same speed,” the press release read. The SSO noted that if implementation of the census resumes with the same speed, the population, households and apartments in North Macedonia will be successfully counted by September 30.
