Skopje, 7 October 2022 (MIA) - The government should seriously condemn the conditioning of the companies that have threatened with laying off 30 to 50 percent of the workers due to skyrocketing costs, urges the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM). "Such public threats will instigate social unrest and jeopardize the already fragile social state of workers and citizens in the country," the trade union warned. "We demand the government condemn and take urgent measures to prevent such threats and to find a way to legally protect workers in the private sector especially amid the economic crisis, mainly due to the fact that businesses and their heads during the economic and energy crisis have made millions while the workers barely make ends meet," urged the organization.
