Skopje, 19 October 2023 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi met Thursday with President of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Tiny Cox, who is visiting the country as part of a Conference on Inter-parliamentary dialogue to further promote the European integration of the Western Balkans, set to take place in the Parliament on Friday.  

Interlocutors exchanged views on the role of North Macedonia's membership in the Council of Europe and the continuous performance of obligations arising from the membership, the Parliament said in a press release. 

Talks also tackled overall developments in the world, particularly from the aspect of Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the situation in Israel. Participants in the meeting also discussed the process of North Macedonia's EU accession. 

"Upon interest expressed by PACE President Cox, Speaker Xhaferi briefed the distinguished guest on the current process of constitutional amendments and the expectations thereof in the Republic of North Macedonia," reads the press release.
