Skopje, 25 October 2022 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi met with European Parliament Vice-President Othmar Karas at the sidelines of the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform in Zagreb on Tuesday. Vice-President Karas highlighted the joint work of the EP and the Parliament on the Jean Monnet Dialogue and the Parliamentary Support Programme, which will observe its 10th anniversary by the end of November in Brussels. Discussions also tackled North Macedonia’s European integration and the EP support in this regard, the Parliament said in a press release. Speaker Xhaferi said the EU screening process is ongoing, adding that the Parliament will continue to work on improving the cooperation between the ruling majority and the opposition, along with enhancement of the parliamentary processes through the Jean Monnet Dialogue. Interlocutors expressed readiness for cooperation between the two parliaments, both in the process of North Macedonia’s European integration and the parliamentary dimension of the International Crimea Platform, reads the press release.
