Skopje, 9 November 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi said in a Facebook post on Sunday that he has received the Global Diplomacy Award from the Global Journalism Council (GJC) in Alanya, Türkiye. 

Incumbent MP and former Turkish foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has presented the award to Gashi. 

Speaker Gashi said the award is a recognition of the Parliament's commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, transparency and accountability.

"At an extraordinary ceremony held in a warm and friendly atmosphere in Alanya, Türkiye, I had the honour of receiving the Global Diplomacy Award from the Global Journalism Council (GJC). This is a recognition of our commitment in the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, transparency and accountability. At a time when voices often rise louder than arguments, and when information sometimes loses fairness to speed, this award reminds me that true diplomacy and responsible work are built on respect, understanding and open dialogue. I am deeply grateful to the Global Journalism Council, the organizers and the jury for this great honour!," Gashi posted on Facebook.
