Skopje, 11 June 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Tuesday with UNDP Resident Representative Armen Grigoryan, discussing further enhancement of cooperation and the Parliament's support in adopting and implementing the National Development Strategy 2024-2044.

Grigoryan congratulated Gashi on his election to the post, saying the Strategy encompasses several segments through which UNDP cooperates with state institutions, including the Parliament: disinformation, youth policies, climate issues and environmental justice, the Parliament said in a press release.

Gashi said he expected the MPs to adopt the National Development Strategy at some of the coming sessions and pledged for the development of more projects for less developed municipalities that would benefit citizens.

Interlocutors agreed that cooperation between the Parliament and UNDP, as well as with other state institutions, would strengthen for the purpose of guaranteeing the Strategy's sustainability over its 20-year period, reads the press release.
