Skopje, 13 December 2026 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held a farewell meeting Tuesday with the outgoing Ambassador of the United States, Angela Aggeler.

At the meeting, Gashi thanked the Ambassador for her personal commitment, professional approach, and support for democratic processes in the country. He especially highlighted her role in strengthening institutional cooperation, building trust, and promoting dialogue in Parliament. 

The Speaker of Parliament also expressed his gratitude to the U.S. Embassy for its continued and firm support of the Republic of North Macedonia in strengthening democratic institutions, rule of law, stability, and the country’s Euro-Atlantic orientation. In that context, he also highlighted his gratitude to the U.S. as a strategic partner and ally.

Gashi stressed that the contribution of Ambassador Aggeler and the U.S. has left a visible and positive mark in the development of democratic and modern processes in the country. He also voiced confidence that the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries will continue in the future.
