Spasovski: Working intensively with Ministry of Education to keep pupils safe

Skopje, 2 March 2023 (MIA) - We are working intensively with the Ministry of Education and Science and we have to jointly proceed so that we reach a solution in which pupils are safe and the instruction process is safe, said Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski late on Thursday.

Minister Spasovski told reporters that a specific guideline has been passed in the section on terrorism, according to which certain measures would be undertaken right after the bomb threat report, and implementation of this act would begin as of Friday.

"This is an activity that the MoI cannot implement by itself. This requires the involvement of all institutions and that is why a team has been set up within the Government that includes the National Security Agency, the Intelligence Agency, the Agency for Electronic Communications, each with their own specific activities. We have passed a new guideline, an act that replaces another guideline in the section on terrorism that is outdated. We will launch the new activities in line with the new guideline," said Spasovski.

According to him, solutions are sought to solve the entire bomb threat situation, while adding that the new act would be part of the problem's solution.

"This is a battle of all institutions and we must work together, because a terrorist threat requires everyone's involvement in countering terrorism. For us, the safety of pupils and teachers comes first," underlined Spasovski.
