Skopje, 24 January 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said Wednesday it is important for him as a person and politician to see SDSM choose the best candidates for president and lawmakers for the coming double elections, but also a good election platform of the pro-EU bloc.

Asked about the possibility of running for president, Minister Spasovski said at the sidelines of conference "Year of European Opportunities" that the procedure is ongoing in SDSM's local and municipal offices.

"The most important thing for me as a person and politician is to, first, choose the best candidates for president and lawmakers, and second, to prepare a good election platform of the pro-EU bloc, including a clear vision and strategy for the country's path. This is what we have to do vis-à-vis the lack of concept by the opposition. The battle at these elections will focus on this, so personal ambitions and interests cannot come first," said Spasovski.
