Kumanovo, 20 April 2022 (MIA) – The opening of the Cultural Center in Bitola named after a collaborator of Hitler, the fascist occupier, is unacceptable to me, it is provocation and will not contribute in any way to improving the relations, Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said on Wednesday.
In response to a reporter’s question after a visit to Kumanovo General Hospital, Spasovski reiterated the Government’s position that it aims for a solution through principled talks in order to achieve the national interest of EU accession.
“I firmly hold to the position that our country was practically born of the National Liberation War, and I absolutely respect those values and so does every citizen, because the fight against fascism at the time is a value that all of us and the future generations must preserve and nurture. We must cherish such tradition so that we don’t have restored something that was really disastrous for the whole world,” said Spasovski.
According to him, all politicians should look to the future, and when they make decisions, they should make them for future generations.
“Talks on a principled basis, and hopefully we’ll reach a solution to the issue,” Spasovski said.
