Spasovski: Interior Ministry ready to ensure safe OSCE Ministerial Council

Skopje, 29 November 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski visited Wednesday the team tasked with organizing, managing and coordinating security measures and activities for the safe and smooth organization of the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje, in the coming two days, which will be attended by 74 foreign delegations, said the MoI in a press release.

According to the press release, the Head of Department for the Protection of Certain Persons and Facilities at the Ministry, which is in charge of the security operation, Aleksandar Nacevski, informed Minister Spasovski that the security services are taking all necessary measures and activities. He told Spasovski that some of the delegations have arrived, and the situation is regular, with all relevant teams on the ground, acting in line with the operational plan.

Spasovski stressed that the Ministry of Interior is ready to ensure a safe OSCE Ministerial Council.

“I am more than confident that we will present ourselves in the best possible light as a security service and as a country. Enormous expectations are placed on North Macedonia. This is a serious challenge both for the security services and the country. How we are perceived at the international level is very important. Yesterday, I participated in a conference in Brussels at the European Commission, where the assessment of the MoI was full of superlatives over all our achievements. The perception indicates that North Macedonia has serious credibility and capacity, partly due to the OSCE summit in Skopje. Therefore, the responsibility is even greater to ensure everything proceeds smoothly, MoI is prepared for the challenge,” said Minister Spasovski.
