Spasovski in Ljubljana: Over 31,000 passports issued to Macedonian nationals abroad

Skopje, 26 September 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski paid a visit to the Embassy of North Macedonia in Ljubljana and met with staff in the consular section over the process of issuing passports to Macedonian emigrants.

Minister Spasovski referred to the project of passport issuance stations in diplomatic-consular offices that was launched by the end of 2021.

"As of January 2023, 11,415 passports have been issued, of which 870 in Ljubljana," said Spasovski.

He added that 31,187 passports have been issued since the launch of the project.

He expressed satisfaction that the entire process - from application to collection - lasts between 15-30 days.

"Our goal was to set up a true service for citizens, an efficient and cost-effective response to their needs. We have managed to do this by shortening the duration of procedures and cutting costs for citizens," said Spasovski.
